DINING REVIEW: SUSHI YAMA ASIAN BISTRO

Sushi Yama Asian Bistro (7050 W Palmetto Park Rd, Boca Raton, FL 33433) is a Central Boca modern sushi restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. They have a very extensive menu with many tasty items. 2PhatPhucs have been coming here for years, and the food quality and prices never disappoint.

Tip: If you sit at the sushi bar, you can get a complimentary appetizer such as the one pictured below.

The place has always been very clean and friendly. The sushi is always fresh. Each of the other items we have ever had, including soups and entrees, were always very good as well. Below we are going to review just a few of our favorites.

SUSHI YAMA’S SUSHI MORI D ($21.95)

Sushi Mori D is a sushi entrée, which comes with a miso soup or a salad, and includes a Sunshine roll, a tuna roll, and 6 pieces of sushi. Sushi Yama’s sushi has always been very fresh and tastes great. This entree can easily feed two people or serve as two meals. It’s always been one of my favorites for years. Sushi Yama’s miso soup has always been top notch as well.

SUSHI YAMA’S SALMON POKE BOWL ($11.95)

Sushi Yama’s poke bowls are very generous, and come with a miso soup or a salad. I personally like their eel or salmon poke bowls most.  They come with sushi rice, crab salad, seaweed salad, and different vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumber, carrot, soybeans, avocado, shredded cabbage, radish, and pickled radishes. Just as all of Sushi Yama’s food, everything is fresh and tastes great.

SUSHI YAMA’S BABY OCTOPUS SUSHI (5PC: $10)

If you like baby octopus, you’re going to love this sushi, that is baby octopus on top of sushi rice wrapped in seaweed. As pictured above, we get it with tobiko on top. Each piece is large, so 5 pieces can easily fill you up.

In sum, Sushi Yama is a great local spot that is very popular among the locals due to its ambience, very fresh and tasty sushi (and more), and reasonable prices. The staff is very friendly too, including the sushi chefs that hook you up with the free appetizers if you sit with them at the sushi bar.

Note: This is our honest, unsolicited review. We were not commissioned to do it, and received nothing in exchange.
